Samui Centre of Learning prides itself on keeping up to date with current changes in educational frameworks implemented by the Department For Educational Standards in the UK. Last year we implemented the new Primary Framework for Literacy and mathematics and it is now successfully running throughout the school. This year we have adapted elements of our curriculum to extend and include the new EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) framework for our Foundation classes. During this time we have also integrated the new Letters and Sounds phonics guidance along side our Jolly Phonics program, which we have found to be extremely successful. This year we introduced Individual Education Plans (IEP's) for each child. Although these are generally used for children in the UK with special needs, we felt that every child would benefit from their own tailor made learning objectives.
